Who Review #127 - Mawdryn Undead

The start of the Black Guardian arc, with new campanion Mark Strickson as Turlough. Valentine Dyall is back with that deep, rich "evil" voice...and a crow on his head! The story also sees the return of Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier. In keeping with this era's continued references to the show's past, we are treated to a Brigadier flashback. It is nicely done.

Nyssa begins slowly and surely to metamorphosise into an old style companion (she's becoming a screamer and is showing some leg in her mini and boots combo).

Classic Turlough
"Ooh Matron!"

Classic Brig
"Things don't just dematerialise. Take my word for it."
"If I had amnesia, I would be the first to know."

It's a delightful little jaunt but mainly because of Nick. The Turlough/Black Guardian scenes are a bit repetative; in fact, there are a variety of holes that pop up - e.g. why hasn't the Black Guardian struck before and why does he need Turlough to do his dirty work anyway?
